First all-Chinese post –

I want to start writing some posts in Chinese to keep a chronicle of how my character knowledge and writing ability are coming along. My goal is to not use the dictionary at all, and then ask a Chinese person to only tell me if something is totally screwed up. If nothing is horribly wrong, I then post. Some things thus aren’t going to be exactly correct, but as writing perfect Chinese is not the goal, I don’t care. If there are some large errors, such as a wrong character or a sentence that makes no sense, please let know. My vocabulary (not even factoring in that I don’t know characters for most words) is rather limited so don’t expect an essay on advanced circuit design or ancient philosophy. These posts are going to be very simplistic at the start. Thus….here it goes:

  3. Grammy Says:

What a hoot! I was afraid my computer wouldn’t show the Chinese characters, but it did. Wonderful! Yes a translation would be nice, but just seeing this effort is great. Andrew, you’re adding sunshine to my day. Much love, Grammy

  4. Sara Says:

I completely concur with everything you’ve said.

Glad you are enjoying your early morning bike rides. I didn’t know that your girlfriend sings and is a good cook. A real triople threat. Lucky you. Your sentence structure for a novice is quite good. Keep up the good work. It sounds as if China has another digit to add to its population total. Enjoy!

Hey A.J., it’s all Chinese to me…

Thanks everyone…..here is an autotranslation from google. Since this is an autotranslation, it makes no sense in a lot of places:

I would like to start writing Chinese language, but I do not know many characters. I write to you I will look at the characters, but if I wrote, you need to tell me. I write things easy from the beginning, but I do not look at the dictionary, and then you can really know my characters level.
I now describe abuse. I told Andy, surname Strauss. My Chinese name is the day of Shenyang. I now live in Shijiazhuang, but I am American. I was student, I learn the Chinese language. I very much like Chinese, but because Chinese language studies and a bad pronunciation difficult. I now have two Chinese teachers. I am from Monday to Friday 8:00 to 10:00 class, 16:00 to 6:00 class. I have many daily operations, but I like nothing because I know that nothing can improve my Chinese language level. Shijiazhuang weather is getting better and better these days. I am very pleased because I do not like cold weather. I like playing outside. I began on the morning of the day on bicycles. I like the morning because people are riding bicycles, vehicles were also small, so the sky has not dirty it. I have a Chinese girlfriend, she told Shen Qi. She is singing. She also was pretty smart. I am very fond and her together. Her cooking done well. I like to eat her vegetables. I like to live in China. Here I should like to continue to study Chinese language and continue to improve my Chinese language level. I do not want to return to the United States because I have is Chinese.

I want to start to write Chinese, but I do not know very many Chinese characters. I have a look the Chinese character to you which I can write, but if I wrote mistakenly, you needed to tell me. From starts me to write the easy thing, but I do not read the dictionary, then you can really know my Chinese character proficiency Now I introduce. I call Andy, is surnamed Strauss. My Chinese name is An Tianyang. I now live in Shijiazhuang, but I am an American. I am a student, I study Chinese. I extremely like Chinese, but study Chinese studies not not well because Chinese pronunciation is very difficult. I now have two Chinese teachers. I morning eight to ten attends class from Monday to Friday, afternoon four to six attends class. I have very many works every day, but I like making the work because I knew makes the work to be allowed to raise my Chinese proficiency. These day Shijiazhuang’s weather was more and more good. I extremely happy because I do not like the weather too being cold. I like in outside playing. This month I start early morning to ride the bicycle daily. I like the early morning riding the bicycle very much because person few, the automobile are also few, therefore the sky does not have the internal organs. I have a Chinese girlfriend, she calls Shanghai the fine jade. She is the person which sings. She attractive also is intelligent. I extremely like with her in same place. She prepares food does very much well. I like eating her vegetable. I like in China living very much. I must continue in here to study Chinese, continues to raise my Chinese proficiency. 13. Andrew Strauss Says:

    Terry….glad you found it amusing

    Bernard….

  20. sophiTao Says:

  21. andrewstrauss Says:
