Tone police video

Filed under: China, Chinese — andrewstrauss @ 12:16 am

I just stumbled across the 6th video from Chinese Pod, called The Tone Police. It is quite funny in a corny way, and might help some of you understand why Chinese tones make the language so difficult. The music video about half way through is hilarious!

What city are those guys in?
Looks like there’s lots of Americans doin’ what you’re doin’, and I’m sure you’re doin’ it bettah!

    Thanks for the laugh.

AJ- Very funny – I can’t even get the tone right for Nihau, or however you spell hello. I’d surely be beaten into submission regularly by the tone police. I can’t believe how similar the pairs of words sound – and how different the meanings are. I guess it’s not so subtle once you really know the language. Funny video.
