Da lian – Day 3 and flight home
We woke up late again, and barely managed to check out of the hotel by the 2pm deadline. We were not alone, as the lobby was packed with other people checking out late.
We did a little more shopping, and then spent the majority of the day at the aquarium. 申琦 (shēn qí) really liked the aquarium, and I have to say that I also rather enjoyed myself. I like the polar bears the most. They kept jumping towards the glass as they begged for food. This was terrifying at first–seeing a HUGE polar bear leaping right towards you–but then became quite fun. 申琦 (shēn qí) liked the beluga (白鲸)(bái jīng ) best. They had a little show with the beluga and dolphins which was cool.
We spent about 4 hours wandering around looking at the fishes, before heading back to the hotel, and then to the airport.
We got the flight time wrong, however, and wound up arriving at the airport 5 minutes before our flight back to 石家庄 (shíjiāzhuāng). In China, however, this apparently isn’t a problem. 申琦 (shēn qí) pushed her way to the front of the security line, which didn’t seem to be a problem. After a simple check, we walked (or ran) onto our plane.
申琦 (shēn qí) was still quite scared, but it wasn’t as bad as the first time. We got back to my house around 11pm, and went to bed early. All in all, it was quite a decent trip

You are beginning to sound like a native. Taking it all in stride. Sounds like a very enjoyable time. Continue to absorb.

AJ, the aquarium sounds like fun. I don’t know if you remember, but I took you to the Long Beach aquarium and to the Monterey aquarium, when you were a kid. You liked them as well. But neither of them had polar bears!! I didn’t even know polar bears were fish!! I hope you’re taking pictures of all of these trips, because I’d love to see them. Thanks for keeping up the postings. Love, Dad
