Pull up!

I got an odd message from my dad the other day. Turns out the FAA had called him a bunch of times about an accident involving my old airplane. Apparently the registration had not transferred to the new owner and they still believed the airplane belonged to me. I pulled up the FAA preliminary accident database and found this:

I put a call into my buddy Chuck and found out that the new owner drove the plane into the ground. Normally when you land a plane, you pull up the nose when you get close to the ground to make the plane fly parallel to the ground. This is called a flare. Apparently the new owner neglected to do this when landing. OPPS!

    Justin…….yeah….grrrr

Rachel…..the plane isn’t gone forever, it just needs new landing gear, a new prop, some elbow grease, and probably a new engine. Glad you are wearing the shirt tho :)

What a bummer! That was definitely a great aircraft. I’m looking to do some flying here in Luxembourg, but man…200 Euro for a VFR Flight and 300+ for IFR is a killer!

Elijah….yeah….I was pissed when I heard about the accident. As far as flying in Europe….if you get to do it, I’ll be jealous. I found it to be far too expensive to be worthwhile.

AJ – I was really sorry to hear about your former plane. With all the work you put into it, and the pride you felt towards that plane, I’m sure it bummed you out -even though it was someone else flying it.

    Dad……..your are absolutely correct

It’s called “pranging” an airplane. And it’s really not very nice at all!

Hey, your “where am I” post was just hilarious.
